When I was training yesterday at the base gym, a guy came up and asked if I was training parkour. Yes, I said, and now we are partnering up to train together, 5 days a week, for parkour.
Today we tried a bunch of different exercises for an hour, to try and get our training regiment down. We practiced our rolls, jumps from bench to bench on the gym's bleachers, balancing, wall climbs to grab the basketball support beams, tic tac, wall run, and cat crawl. All in all, we had a pretty good time, and have built a pretty good base to start off on our training.
My foot still hurts a bit, the left side anyway, but is getting better. I figure I should be 100% by Monday. We're both going to be looking up exercises to do, like balance exercises, as well as different jumps, and build a good regiment off of that. I figure that by the time we make up the list, we'll have 2 hours of training a day to do.
This coming saturday, weather dependant, we plan to go down to Portland and do a bit of freerunning, and find different places to practice.
